What is a Kinship Caregiver Support Group?
Kinship caregiver support groups create peer support for caregivers who take in children into their guardianship, whether they are a grandchild, a niece/nephew, or a close family friend.
What to Expect in Group:
- Connect and share experiences with others who are providing kinship care in a safe and supportive environment.
- Obtain resources you may need, including legal, financial, or the child welfare system.
- Focus on your own personal self-care, learning from shared experiences on how to manage stress.
What are the Requirements?
- Must be a relative or close family friend of the child in your care.
- Must be raising a child (under the age of 18) who is not in the care of their biological parents.
- Seeking support with challenges that arise from taking care of children who are not your own.
When is Group?
Group will be held on Tuesday’s 6pm-7pm PST beginning March 17th.
Group cost is Free.
Group will be virtual and zoom link will be sent upon interest form being filled out.
